    About ALS

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) — also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease — is a progressive and terminal neurological condition that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Most individuals with ALS experience a gradual decline in muscle control, making everyday activities, communication, and breathing increasingly difficult. While the mind remains sharp, the body slowly loses its ability to function independently. There is currently no cure, and treatment primarily focuses on easing symptoms and prolonging quality of life.
